Pauline Loctin is a multidisciplinary artist and creative director whose contemporary sculptural practice transforms paper and fabric through intricate folding techniques into immersive, sensory installations.

Drawing on principles of repetition, geometry and material tension, Loctin manipulates surfaces into rhythmic, three-dimensional forms that shift with light, movement and perspective. Rooted in narrative and precision, her work balances technical craft with poetic expression, creating moments of quiet wonder that invite audiences to pause, gather and engage through form, visual language and spatial experience.

BIO

Born and based in France, Loctin has spent over a decade redefining the boundaries of folded art. Her practice transforms flat, two dimensional sheets into anything from small and intimate to massive and immersive installations that challenge the viewer’s perception of material. Using formal folding techniques like tessellation alongside freestyle curved folds, Loctin creates geometric forms that appear almost machine made in their precision, yet remain deeply rooted in the human touch.

Whilst living and working from Montreal, Pauline worked on several high profile projects with partners providing installations for the Eaton Centre, the Four Seasons and the Symphony Orchestra of Montreal. Loctin also worked on a short film project with The New York Times: “Above” showcased her costume & wearable art in the form of a hand folded tutu.

In the cultural sphere, Loctin’s work has been featured in major institutions including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Most recently, her large-scale installation “Flying in Nuanced Colours” was a centrepiece of the 2024 London Design festival, further cementing her reputation as a leading voice in contemporary spatial design.
